Rhinoplasty Information
Rhinoplasty, or Nose Surgery, is a procedure performed to help improve the appearance and/or function of the nose. For many, the nose they were born with isn’t the one they would have chosen. A nose that is disproportionate to the rest of the features of the face, or that has a bump or indentation in the bridge, or a nose tip that is too narrow, wide, upturned, or down-turned may make a person feel self-conscious.
Sometimes the nose appearance gets altered later in life due to an injury or trauma. Nose Surgery is performed using either an open or closed technique–meaning the incision is made on the outside (open) or inside (closed) of the nose.
In addition to improve the aesthetic values of the nose, the nose surgery can improve the function of the nose when there are obstructions within the structure of the nose that is hindering air flow.
