Mommy Makeoverin Boca Raton, FL

Revive the Diva Inside

Conveniently located to serve Boca Raton, FL

Cosmetic surgery procedures have long been used by women to address certain aspects of their appearance, including the areas of their bodies affected by childbirth. However, rather than undergoing a range of separate surgeries to restore your appearance, it is now possible to combine several cosmetic procedures into one planned surgery – and, more importantly for busy moms, one recovery period.

Each Mommy Makeover is unique in that you can choose which surgeries you would like to have included. For example, you may be perfectly happy with your breasts but would instead like to focus on improving your mid-section. That’s the beauty of our Boca Raton Mommy Makeover: it is expertly curated for you!

Put Yourself at Center Stage

What is a Mommy Makeover?

A Mommy Makeover is a bespoke collection of surgical procedures to help women reclaim contours and confidence in their bodies after having a baby. Pregnancy comes with a variety of physiological changes – some that linger even after giving birth.

During pregnancy, a woman’s maternal fat stores increase, hormone levels change, the digestive tract slows, and the expecting mother typically experiences a 25-35 pound increase in weight.[1] While postnatal diet and exercise can help some women, many new mothers don’t have the hours or energy to focus on reclaiming their figure. Instead, expert surgeons like Dr. Gregory Albert have crafted a customizable set of procedures to specifically address each of the changes that occur during pregnancy.

Breast Surgeries

The breasts undergo some serious changes during pregnancy, expanding due to weight gain, accommodating to your milk supply, and then deflating again once you lose weight and stop nursing. This fluctuation in volume can leave you with loose, sagging, and excess skin in your breasts. To remedy this condition, Dr. Albert performs two breast surgeries to obtain desired volume and appearance in the breasts.

Breast Lift

Mastopexy, or a breast lift, is a surgical procedure to sculpt and contour breasts that have lost volume and descended on the chest due to excess tissue and loss of skin elasticity. With age and fluctuations in weight, the breasts sink lower on the chest, oftentimes sagging well below the inframammary crease line (the line where the breast meets the chest wall).

For many women, this can cause the breasts to lose volume or desired projection. To begin a breast lift for a Mommy Makeover, Dr. Albert makes an incision at the base of the breast or around the areola. From here, he can carefully remove the excess tissue. Then, Dr. Albert lifts the breast tissue to a more desirable orientation on the chest. He sutures the incisions closed and ensures the breasts are even and appear as the patient desires.

Breast Augmentation

After pregnancy, the breasts can lose their fullness. Or, other women didn’t have their ideal breast size even before having children and now wish to see breasts they can be satisfied with. For these women, Dr. Albert typically recommends breast augmentation surgery.

Additional Reading

Breast augmentation surgery uses silicone or saline implants, or in some cases natural fat transfer, to restore volume in the breasts. Breast augmentation can be perfectly performed in conjunction with a breast lift, which tightens the skin across and surrounding the breasts, so they sit higher, look perkier, appear more youthful, and produce more cleavage for an improved breast shape.

Mid-Section Makeover

Typically, during the third trimester, the internal pressure from the fetus becomes too much for the abdominal muscles to handle. These vertical muscles are held together by a thick connective tissue called the linea alba. When the fetus grows to an unsustainable size for the midsection, the vertical abdominal walls separate horizontally from the linea alba, causing a condition known as diastasis recti.[2]

Additional Reading

After childbirth, the muscles remain out of place, and the linea alba bunches up to form a common yet unsightly bulge in the mother’s midsection. No diet or exercise can treat this condition, and while some conditions heal over time, many mothers have diastasis recti permanently. In addition, many mothers are discouraged by stubborn, lingering belly fat. Luckily, these concerns can be effectively treated with either liposuction or a tummy tuck.

Tummy Tuck

Also known as abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck is the most requested of all cosmetic surgeries included in a Mommy Makeover. This popularity is because, unsurprisingly, the abdomen undergoes the most dramatic change of all, swelling and stretching far beyond normal to accommodate the growing baby.

Additional Reading

While you may find that you can lose inches from around your abdomen fairly quickly after pregnancy, sagging skin, loss of muscular tone, and stretch marks are three common issues. In some cases, belly button hernias develop and deform the abdomen’s contours. A tummy tuck focuses on tightening the underlying abdominal muscles as well as the skin that covers your midsection. The diastasis recti are corrected with sutures that bring the muscles back into their organic alignment. Next, Dr. Albert pulls the loose skin tight, removes the overhanging tissue, and ensures that the abdomen looks much flatter and smoother with a more defined shape. Your entire midsection can be carefully sculpted with Dr. Albert’s tummy tuck approach, allowing you to enjoy your favorite bikini again.

Liposuction

No matter what you eat or how much you exercise, you will almost certainly have stubborn pockets of fat that linger around your midsection. These trouble spots are incredibly frustrating, particularly when they tend to exist in certain areas such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, and buttocks.

Additional Reading

Liposuction is the only guaranteed way of removing these, aspirating out the excess fat, and helping you to achieve a smoother, more toned body. Not all liposuction techniques are the same. Depending on the area being treated, ultrasonic liposuction and power-assisted liposuction will be performed to get an optimal result. High-definition liposuction techniques can be utilized to give you extra definition and truly exceptional results.

Feel Your Figure Sing

What can a Mommy Makeover do?

Having a baby takes a considerable toll on your body as it undergoes some truly remarkable changes to successfully carry and deliver an infant. In addition to the inevitable stretching and growing of your stomach to accommodate your growing child, your breasts increase in size as they become ready to feed the baby once born. Weight gain is completely natural, and many women do find that their hips, butt, and even thighs get larger while carrying their children.

Unfortunately, for most new moms, these changes don’t disappear overnight, and some of these changes are permanent. While at first, your body will undoubtedly be far from your biggest priority, as time progresses, you may become frustrated with issues such as excess weight, sagging skin, stretch marks, and deflated breasts. Diet and exercise may help improve some aspects of your physique, but it is uncommon for a woman to be able to obtain their pre-pregnancy body entirely.

If you are unhappy with the way your body appears after childbirth and nursing, you will probably find it harms your confidence and self-esteem. Others suffer from social anxiety or revert to shapeless clothing to hide the parts of their body that they feel need addressing. Some studies suggest that postpartum depression is more common among women who haven’t been able to regain their pre-pregnancy shape. Thanks to the creation of the Mommy Makeover Boca Raton patients fortunately do not have to accept that result.

Preparing For A Mommy Makeover

To prepare for your Mommy Makeover, it is essential that you:

  • Quit smoking a couple of weeks before the surgery and the entire duration of your recovery.
  • Designate a caregiver to drive you home and look after you post-surgery. For a couple of weeks, you will need to focus on recovery, so be sure to find adequate help to keep up with the kids for the time being.
  • Prefill all prescription medications. You will not be able to take any pain medication that thins the blood after your procedure, so be sure to visit the pharmacy before your surgery date to fill your prescribed medication.

Lifted and Ready to Lead

Mommy Makeover Recovery, Results, and Aftercare

After your procedure, we will carefully monitor your early recovery as you awaken from anesthesia and ensure that you are stable, comfortable, and ready to return home. Make sure to arrange a ride home, as the effects of anesthesia take some time to wear off. You may need two or more weeks to recover, so make sure you arrange ample time to rest and take care of yourself. You will receive detailed instructions on aftercare, including how to maintain any surgical drains, which sometimes need to be placed. You may need to wear a support garment and avoid sitting or standing in certain positions while your incisions heal. We will check your progress at post-operative visits, but you can contact us at any point with questions.
